In 1987, I met my first West Highland White Terrier.  His name was Barney and he was a beautiful, intelligent, solid specimen of the breed.   His owners purchased him from a responsible, successful show kennel and he lived to be 17 years of age.

I fell in love with the look and spirit of this dog and, shortly thereafter, started to learn all I could about Westies.  I have been fortunate to work with Westies from some of the best lines, and develop my own line which remains true to the Standard, including excellent health and temperament.

I condition and show my own dogs successfully at the highest levels.   Since 1995, from limited breeding, I have finished the AKC Championship on 55 dogs, 45 dogs of which are my breeding.  I handle the dogs myself.   My dogs have won at many Westie specialty events in the USA and Canada, as well as the World Dog Shows in Europe.   Showing the dogs is the only way I know to continually compare my dogs against others, and to receive feedback on the direction of my breeding program compared to the Standard.

I have always been committed to making sure that every Nsase dog receives exactly the same love and care, no matter the circumstances.  Every pet dog is placed with a spay/neuter contract and the promise that, if the dog can no longer stay with their new owner for some reason, that I will always be there for him or her if needed.

In this journey I have experienced both great joy and also at times much heartache.   I have met some wonderful people who have shown great faith in me,and given me the chance to learn and grow.   Through the dogs, I have enjoyed the chance to expand my circle of friends and family.

During all this time, I continue by words and deeds to be focused on being a responsible steward and representative of the Westie breed.     I hope you enjoy this website, which I offer as a showcase for my dogs over the years, and a resource for those who want to know more about Westies.

nsase   (my kennel name), what does it mean?
